About the Department of Computer Science and Engineering

The Department has in total 76 faculty members including teaching staff and enrolls about 70 PhD students from more than 30 countries. The research spans the whole spectrum of computer science and engineering, from theoretical foundations to applied systems development. In particular, our security research is directed both towards theoretical foundations and application areas such as energy systems and vehicular systems. There is extensive national and international collaboration with academia and industry all around the world. Visit the department's page for more information.

Required Qualifications

The employment can be at different levels, depending on the candidate's experience.

The position as full professor requires a very high level of documented research. The applicant must have a strong research record and excellent credentials, not only in computer science and engineering in general, but in particular in the areas mentioned in the job description above. The emphasis in computer systems security is decidedly on systems rather than cryptography and theory. Experience from cooperation in international projects is a clear advantage.

The working language in the research group is English. The undergraduates are normally taught in Swedish, but the graduate level teaching is in English. Thus good language skills are required. Chalmers offers Swedish courses.
